This report presents the results of a survey on communication between students and staff at the University of Iceland, commissioned for the Equality Committee of the University of Iceland. The goal of the survey was to assess the frequency of bullying and sexual harassment among students and staff.

The main objective of this study is to investigate whether gender-based wage differences are among the employees of the City of Reykjavik. The analysis is based on wages in October 2001. At the same time, the results of the gender pay gap in October 2001 are compared with the results of the research conducted by the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Iceland, on the same subject, since October 1995. 

The main objective of the research is to investigate whether gender-based wage differences are among the staff of the Iceland University of Education. The analysis is based on wages paid on October 1, 2004.

The overall aim of the project På sporet av likelön - Evaluating Equal Pay - Mælistikur á launajafnrétti is to deepen our understandings of the gender pay gap in the five Nordic countries through a comparison of available statistical indicators, analysis of studies on the adjusted gender pay gap and review of measures or “good practices” to tackle the gender pay gap.

In the autumn of 2004 the report The Beliefs of Immigrants in the Westfjords and East Iceland was published in cooperation with the Institute of Social Sciences. This was a survey in which the aim was to explore among immigrants residence, legal status, language skills, participation in social work, utilization and attitude to various types of services and employment.

The report did not make a comparison between immigrants in East Iceland and the West Fjords. The aim of this discussion is to present the results of such a comparison.
