The SSRI's Panel is a group of people who have agreed to take part regularly in surveys conducted by the Institute. The panel includes people from a wide range of backgrounds, including different ages, genders, places of residence, levels of education, and employment situations.
Panel members are regularly invited to take part in online surveys. The surveys cover a wide range of topics, including politics, health and welfare, the environment, social issues, and services provided by businesses and public institutions.
Why does your opinion matter?
By taking part, you have an opportunity to share your views and experiences. It is important that the perspectives of people from different backgrounds are represented so that survey results provide as accurate a picture as possible of people’s attitudes and experiences in society.
Participants’ responses help us better understand how people experience different social issues and how attitudes and circumstances change over time. Survey findings can, among other things, contribute to research, policy development, and the development and evaluation of services.
Data from panel surveys are used by researchers at the University of Iceland and other academics, as well as by public institutions, civil society organizations, and other organizations that commission research and surveys from the Institute of Social Science.
Privacy and data security
The Institute of Social Science places great importance on privacy and the secure handling of data. Participants’ responses are treated as confidential, and results are reported in a way that ensures that individual participants cannot be identified.
Personal data and research data are stored and processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations and the University of Iceland’s policies and procedures.
