Criminology research center
General overview
The Criminology research center is a collaboration forum between the University of Iceland and the police in the capital area. The agency primarily carries out various investigations related to crime. These issues include the frequency and social patterns of violations, attitudes and experiences of crime, the fear of crime and the safety of citizens, as well as international comparison and multinational cooperation.
The board of directors
Helgi Gunnlaugsson, professor of sociology, and Rannveig Þórisdóttir, a lecturer in sociology and a specialist at the police in the capital area, have been managing the room from the beginning.
